A bit about me…

…and a question for you.

Is there a question that leads your life? A question that has become your life’s calling to answer?

For decades – and nearly daily, I have read the final line from the beloved poet Mary Oliver’s poem, “A Summer Day.”

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

A few years ago another poem found me. “Even If” by Joy Sullivan.

” Even if fool-hardy, ill advised, or half mad. Even if I do not yet understand my own reasons. Even if leaving guts my heart to its last throbbing fiber, I will let this life eat me to the bone. “

My forever question found its answer.

I could also describe myself as a retired and recovering emergency services worker, a seeker of joy and beauty and wisdom, lustfully chasing curiosity to every corner of the world and my heart.

And finally, if the above lines are my life’s questions, a line by author Henry Miller is my mission statement:

”The aim of life is to live. And to live means to be aware – joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.”

Life question. Life Answer. Mission statement.

I’d say that pretty much sums me up.

What is your life’s question?

Or mission statement?

Or motto?

I love to hear what your heart seeks.
